Yahiko-mura (village)

About 20 minutes by car from Tsubame-Sanjo station (Joetsu shinkansen).
Nearest station is Yahiko-eki (station).

Yahiko-yama (mountain)

Mt. Yahiko is altitude of 634 m and it can reach it in one-way about 1 hour. In Mt. Yahiko, the whole mountain serves as a sanctuary of the Yahiko shrine. From the summit of the mountain, it can look at the Japan sea or the Echigo plain.

There is a ropeway and it arrives in about 5 minutes to the summit of the mountain. It is about 10 minutes' walk from the Yahiko shrine to the station of a ropeway.
If you use a car, and the "Mt. Yahiko skyline" (It is closed down during winter.) is run, it can go to the summit of the mountain.

Yahiko-jinja (shrine)

Yahiko-jinja is a very large shrine in a Yahiko mountain. Although walks from JR Yahiko station about 10 minutes up to a shrine, the ryokan with a hot spring and the souvenir store have stood in a line on the way. In the case of a car, a parking lot is next to a shrine.

Much institution is in a site and a deer etc. are. A cherry tree can be seen in April and autumnal leaves can be seen in November. There is a chrysanthemum festival in November and many chrysanthemums are decorated.
